Change Computer Screen Resolution

 Screen resolution means the number of pixels on your screen. The higher the resolution, the better the quality of pictures on the screen. The base resolution is 640 x 480 ( 680 pixels horizontally and 480 vertically).  The ideal resolution for a 14”  monitor is 800 x 600. The ideal resolution for a 17” monitor  or a 15”  monitor is 1024 x 768.

 To change the resolution:

  1. Print this page
  2. Click on START in the lower left corner of your screen
  3. Select SETTINGS
  4. Select CONTROL PANEL
  5. Select DISPLAY
  6. Select  SETTINGS
  7. Move the slide under SCREEN AREA to a higher resolution
  8. Select ADVANCED button
  9. Select FONT SIZE and pick LARGE FONTS
  10. Make sure that there is a check mark in SHOW SETTING ON TASK BAR
  11. Select APPLY
  12. Select OK
  13. Select APPLY
  14. Select OK
  15. The computer will restart if you changed the resolution.
